The Wizlib Digital Library is Open Source software designed to create a web searchable/browsable digital library database structure inside of a DBMS such as MySQL. Currently code is being written solely for the Mysql DBMS. However other databases may be added as well by creating a php interaction file for the desired DBMS. A few of the features of Wizlib include:
- Display Templates: administrators determine how the collection looks
- Hide Collections, Items or even Metadata Fields from admininistrator defined groups
- User-friendly and intuitive administration pages
Wizlib Digital Library was written in PHP and can currently be run on the Windows or Linux Operating System. Other Operating Systems may be supported by creating a small php file.
For more detailed information about the Wizlib Digital Library Project, please see the Project Statement, Objective, and Description.
Wizlib is still in the development stage. See the development page for a list of the features already implemented. Contact the wizlib development team if you are interested in recieving notification when Wizlib is available for download.
